    Tammy has over a decade of experience in innovation and product development- working for FMCG food and drink businesses including Mars, Pepsico, Britvic Soft Drinks and Twinings.

    Tammy started in the area of disruptive innovation and the construction of new innovation platform areas- working directly with consumers to find compelling insights/unmet needs and translate their requirements into product and packaging attributes. She then went on to focus further on product development- focusing on sensory and nutritional aspects. Following this she went on to manage innovation at a global scale- managing a model where some local innovations were supported by key global initiatives,  developed either as multimarket, or as lead and follower market opportunities. Tammy has experience of exploiting new methods and technologies to unlock consumer opportunity, delivering first to market and best in class products. She now leads  technical strategy development and implementation- ensuring it dovetails in with the commercial strategy and delivers growth to the business.

    Tammy holds a first class Masters in Chemistry & Industry, with follow up qualifications in the formulation of cosmetic products, and formal management qualifications.

    You’ve got a winning concept, the business is energised- but that’s the easy bit done. All too often we don’t think about what the product needs to be, or there is no time for that in the timeline- and we jump straight into product development. In this session we will cover some of the pitfalls which could occur, how you could develop a brilliant product…but it’s not the right one for the winning concept,  and some top tips on the things you should be doing in that special project stage in between the concept and the development brief.
